Fibre Artist in Residency at Long Way Homestead
Fibre Artist in REsidency
Long Way Homestead is a fibre farm and wool processing mill in Eastern Manitoba, Treaty One Territory in the community of Ste. Geneveive (40 minutes East of Winnipeg).
We welcome fibre artists specifically, but the residency is open to any artists seeking a closer connection to the source of their materials and the land base that provides those resources.
The residency is 1-week long and designed for artists at any stage to do independent research and development.
Our goal is to provide a beautifully connected space for research and production (studio constraints considered) rooted in nature and a functioning fibre farm.
This residency is primarily self-directed and artists should come prepared to work independently. There may be opportunities for some mentorship and support from Long Way Homestead subject to farm schedule and staffing.
LWH will also work with residents to provide opportunities for broader public engagement through workshops, presentations, events or displays through our Field School. This should be included in the artists application.
We will add a FAQ section for the residency so send us your questions, what do you want to know about the residency?
